EVENTIDE

This painting is interesting. It is a homebuilt Super Cubby completed in 1986. The inspiration behind the painting is the history of this beautiful, yet common type. It salutes the core of aviation itself as the type has been proven over the years as a common, economical, safe and reliable escape machine. A performer loved by so many. Even with new aircraft designs continually emerging, this little beauty continues to steal hearts everywhere.

This painting also salutes the master craftsmen who devote years of their lives to build absolute masterpieces with their skillful hands. This one was built by Harry S. Skead of Ontario, Canada from scratch (not a kit). A five year project right down to the floats which are unique with their square covers. The plane was built with little more than common hand tools along with a disciplined commitment by the craftsman to complete at least one project component each and every day, until completion.
